Seventy Seven members gathered in Killington, Vt. to attend one of nine workshops offered at HSEAD'S Annual Three Day Workshop Program, in Killington,Vermont. "Leaf season" in Vermont is spectacular, and we enjoyed seeing the colors deepen over the three days as we visited up with friends and enjoyed our workshops. Our annual tag sale of supplies and our dinner buffets occupied many of us during the evening hours, before getting back to our evening workshop hours, if we were not tempted to dip i.....

Believe me, You will not be disappointed by this DVD! This is an outstanding production!
The second production of HSEAD Masters Series: BRONZE POWDER STENCILING, ON TIN AND WOOD, a two disk production, features two HSEAD teachers, Dortia Davis and Joyce Holzer. It gets it right from the start, from their joint introduction of the history of stenciling to the final rub down, this is an outstanding production. We have two of the best HSEAD teachers demonstrating the skills and techniques .....

It was wonderful seeing the exhibit of decorative painted objects by former HSEAD President Lynn Glover, organized by her daughter Margaret, in her library in Thousand Oaks, CA. Thank you Margaret and Lynn!
Other member's or even Chapter's who have had exhibits of decorative painted items on display, whether in libraries, historical societies, museums, colleges, or even antique/craft shows; might also consider putting pictures from these events on our HSEAD website. I think we can say, .....

Our "Country Painting" Video (VCR) features our Country Painting "Specialist", Lois Tucker, as the instructor. It is out first featured production in our "Master's Series" teaching video's. This is a video you will want to add to your decorative painting library. It is "first rate" and you can not go wrong watching this video if you are interested in learning Country Painting techniques, even if you have a teacher! No kidding!.....

Our new eBay store not only has the potential of producing additional sales, but should be excellent publicity for the organization. Our books, videos, instruction kits, posters, etc., give a very good idea of what HSEAD is about!

I have been using the new batch of Waterlox Varnish. Two times now I have waited until the varnish was probably a bit beyond the optimun time to stencil, but the powders went on beautifully and I got a perfect sheen...with no powder sifting under the stencils. However, after the varnish was completely dry,(a day later) I wiped off the surface with a damp cloth and let that dry. When I varnished it again for the next step all the previous stenciled powders came off with the fresh varni.....

Nine Workshops were offered in Killington this year, and 84 members enjoyed them in beautiful in Vermont. We look forward to our "eigth" Killington Workshop series in 2009 with ten workshop offerings.
