Classes

All supplies are provided. All you have to do is bring your inner wild child.

Alcohol Ink Workshop

Linda Brubaker

Have you ever painted with alcohol ink? Would you like to try your hand at it? Then this miniworkshop is for you. We will be learning how to manipulate the inks creatively in both free-form and brushed ink techniques on plastic “Yupo” paper. Students will leave the workshop with pictures and note cards they create.

75th Anniversary Keepsake Box

Bonnie Gerard

Make a Celebration exploding box for our 75th anniversary. Pullout cards can be decorated in any way you choose– maybe with examples of our work or pictures of friends past and present.

Country Painting with a Pop

Linda Sheldon

In this class, we will be using acrylics and round brushes to create 1 or 2 tree ornaments–a
reminder of the fun you had at the Diamond Anniversary meeting.

This won’t be just our regular country painting, though. Be prepared to adorn yours with
beads, rhinestones, and metallic paints. Let your imagination run wild!

Fabulous Frakturs

Nancy Toombs

In this class, we will be creating a 5×7” fraktur with watercolors. You will have a choice of three different designs and no tracing is necessary! Use your imagination to create your own unique color scheme!

Theorems for Today

Alexandra Perrot

This is an example of a Theorem butterfly you will create in this class on a 5x 7 white velour board. Using oil paints with precut stencils, the color choice is yours. Have fun embellishing your Theorem with sequins and glitter to create a unique butterfly.

Pictures with Pizzazz

Mary C Roth

Join Mary for an introduction to photography copy work. Learn to use your device (cell phone or digital camera)to take the best possible images of your HSEAD work. You can bring a piece you would like to photograph, or photograph an item Mary brings for practice.

Camera settings (ISO, aperture, shutter speed, file size and exposure settings)will be covered as well as general composition and photography principles with appropriate handouts, web and video links. Be sure to bring the device/camera that you take pictures with!
